What was once a commercial shell with no defined purpose has been transformed into a dedicated jockey training facility for the next generation of QLD racing talent. We reimagined the bones of this existing structure, designing, refurbishing and refurnishing the space from the ground up to serve the specific needs of the Queensland Racing Institute’s jockey training academy.
A complete interior and exterior renovation, the facility now features a full kitchen, women’s and men’s bathrooms, a disabled bathroom, a gym fitted with mechanical horses, a dedicated training room and office space. Every element is purpose-built to support the athletes who train here daily.
The result is a facility that balances practicality with polish; the right design can turn an empty commercial space into a purpose-driven environment built for performance.
