Entire Renovation - Specification of works including project coordination

We were thrilled at the opportunity to assist our clients in redesigning their holiday apartment on the beach in Rainbow Bay. The apartment, located in the popular Rainbow Place, was in original condition and in need of a revamp.

Our clients requested a colour palette of whites and greys, with a few timber accents, to achieve a sense of calm within the apartment.

Our process began with working on the designs for new cabinetry, including redesigning the kitchen, laundry, bathroom and ensuite. When we begin collaborating with our clients, we like to start with the flooring solutions first, as this becomes our foundation of all other material selections. Here we used a warm but subtle Admired hybrid timber flooring. Our Resene paint colours brightened and freshened up the apartment and we went with a 2 Pac finish for the cabinets to create a seamless flow between spaces. We opted for a soft-close with finger pull openings on all cabinets.

Within the renovation project we stripped out the old to bring in the new. We updated the bathrooms, creating a more practical design for the positioning of the toilet and laundry. The bathroom entries were also re-designed, allowing each bedroom to have their own bathroom. As we felt the existing kitchens island bench was intruding into the living and dining space, we created a stunning waterfall edge to reduce the bench size and open up the space.

Ducted air conditioning was installed throughout with the introduction of bulk heads. The window furnishings were updated to compliment the modern, fresh feel the clients sought and were installed by Border Blinds & Shutters.

Other creative and practical spaces added include a drop zone benchtop space with drawers and hat hooks, designed as a continuation of the kitchen. We also incorporated a home office space into the second bedrooms wardrobe design.

Whilst the renovation was underway, we were busy designing and ordering the custom furniture pieces that make up this gorgeous apartment.
